Can I transfer into EAO if I already have earned some high school credits?
To earn a high school diploma from EAO, you must successfully complete at least four (4) terms of learning in our program, for example, the equivalent of your junior and senior years in high school.
This means that you can transfer credits up to two years of high school that you have successfully completed, for example, the equivalent of your freshman and sophomore years in high school.
What if I have been homeschooled up to now?
If you have been homeschooled so far and you have reached the equivalent of the third year in high school, we will consider granting you credits for the homeschooling that you have already completed. We will evaluate each individual request of this sort on a case-by-case basis; also we will require that you document your prior learning.
Who do I contact if I have questions before I apply?
Email David Marshak at: david@explorationsacademy.org
How does the EAO Program start?
On acceptance into the EAO Program, the learner will be contacted by his/her Learning Coach, who will communicate with her/him via Skype and telephone. The Learning Coach will advise, support, coach, tutor the learner as needed, and assess the learner's progress and learning. The Learning Coach will also conduct an acceptance conversation with the learner's parent(s).
First the Learning Coach will get the learner started in EAO by engaging her/him in three self-awareness/self-knowledge activities:
When the learner has completed these three activities, the Learning Coach will discuss the results with the learner. Then, they will plan together the learner's Exploratory Course or first term at EAO.
What is the withdrawal policy?
If a learner chooses to withdraw, his/her parent must inform David Marshak of this decision. Tuition already paid for program time beyond the withdrawal date will be refunded, from the first month following the date of withdrawal. For example, if a learner withdraws on October 20, the refund will begin as of November 1.
